HYROX · CrossFit · Functional fitness · Scotland

The opportunity

Why now

Fitness is becoming a reason to travel.

Fitness is one of the defining consumer mega-trends of our time. HYROX, CrossFit and functional fitness have turned training into culture, community and identity—and people increasingly travel for events, training and shared experiences.

NORTH/FIELD aims to close the gap between the seriousness of the training and the quality of the trip: exceptional coaching beside excellent rooms, food, trails and recovery, all within an estate people already want to visit.

Huge momentum · Global format

The HYROX effect

HYROX has given hybrid training a clear, repeatable race format and powerful global momentum.

NORTH/FIELD will be designed to become an official HYROX Training Club, bringing race-specific training into a destination hospitality setting.

Proven method · Global community

The CrossFit connection

CrossFit helped make coached functional fitness a global community, with strength, conditioning and shared effort at its centre.

Official CrossFit affiliation will also be pursued, creating a credible home for members, visiting clubs and destination training.

HYROX and CrossFit are registered trademarks. Affiliations are intended and remain subject to approval by the respective organisations.

02 · A new role for an existing building

Architecture worth training in.

The ideal space is not a new industrial shed. It is an underused coach house, stable block or estate building whose scale, character and access make a memorable performance hall possible.

Exterior vision of a refurbished Scottish estate building for NORTH/FIELD

An indicative exterior vision

A building with presence.
A destination with purpose.

A sensitively refurbished estate building can retain the character of the place while signalling an energetic new use.

Alternative implementation concept

Train under the sky.
In every season.

A new-build route based on a prefabricated glasshouse structure.

Where the right existing building is not available, NORTH/FIELD could be created as a transparent performance pavilion. The estate remains present throughout the session—changing weather, long views and natural light—without compromising a serious year-round training environment.

03

The estate value

More than an amenity

A distinctive new reason to visit.

01

Incremental room nights

Two- to four-night stays built around programmed training and running.

02

Midweek and shoulder demand

Group formats that need not depend solely on traditional weekend leisure patterns.

03

Food and beverage value

Breakfasts, performance meals, shared dinners and longer time spent on property.

04

A new audience

Fitness-oriented couples, groups and clubs from Scotland, the UK and selected European markets.

05

Stronger storytelling

A visually distinctive experience with natural editorial, social and partnership potential.

06

Productive reuse

A commercially active future for a building that may currently contribute little to the guest proposition.
